And the greatest quarterback in NFL history is...

Ryan Leaf.

Wait, I said greatest, not most useless.

You could argue Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, or Brett Favre, but they all had supporting casts comparable to the Beatles. My choice is a guy whose supporting cast was like Buddy Holly and the Crickets. No one knows or remembers any of the Crickets, besides, they're crickets; that's fitting, because my selection's home stadium would sound like crickets were it not for his incredible leadership and passing ability.

Dan Marino.

Sure, he quarterbacked as many Super Bowls as Rex Grossman, Tony Eason or Stan Humphries, but if Dan Marino didn't play for the Miami Dolphins, they'd be the east-coast Arizona Cardinals. How often do you see a team throw for it on first and goal at the 1, because your tailback is so nondescript he doesn't need a name on his jersey?

As often as Michael Vick buys dogs just for the exercise.

Dan the Quarterback Man is my pick for greatest QB in NFL history. Go 30-for-30 in the Super Bowl Tom Brady or Brett Favre, but you can't overshadow a guy who carried an entire franchise on his shoulders for fifteen years.

Dan's the best ever. Ask any Miami Dolphins fan.

Better yet, ask both of them.
